There are several different methods you can use to access the computers
If you just want to use e-mail, you can use a program like Eudora that makes e-mail real easy and you really
don't have to "log in" to another computer and learn UNIX e-mail. If all you want to do is surf the net,
then you don't even need a computer account at all do do anonymous ftp, gopher, Network News, or World Wide Web (Netscape).
But otherwise, you have to have a computer account. There are no modems connected directly
to any of the Bioinformatics computers (CMGM/PMGM, etc). If you want to connect via a modem, you have to get an
account on the Leland computer system.
