Look

Look is used mainly for displaying molecular structures and predicting protein structure. It is especially good at multiple sequence alignment and showing the relationship between sequence and structure.

Look also has a hypertext electronic lab notebook built in so you can easily make notes of the work you do, and easily refer back to each structure

Advantages

• Mutant Modeling
• Multiple alignment (manual or automatic)
• Stereo imaging
• Links to Internet Databases

Disadvantages

• No docking
• No quantum mechanical calculations, molecular dynamics
• Image output is not very high quality

If you need to do this, try a program like Insight, Sybyl, Dock, or Autodock.

Image Output Format

Look can write output files in GIF, PostScript, PICT formats. The resolution is not as good as with other programs like Sybyl, Insight, VMD, Raster3D.

How do I run it?

Look runs only on the SGI computers, loop, turn, coil.

There are no versions for Macs and PCs.
